You never know who you might be standing next to you in the elevator or who you might bump into on the street. Entrepreneurs need to develop a pitch that can quickly convey the essence of your business to potential investors, customers, or employees. Your pitch must be compelling, concise, and well-rehearsed.

  1. The basics of what your business does, and who you do it for.
  2. What makes you unique in the marketplace.
  3. Establish your credibility.

  1. Keep it simple.
  2. Figure out what is unique about what you do and tell that story.
  3. Make your pitch sticky; make sure it connects with the intended audience.
  4. Write out your pitch.
  5. Practice, and then practice some more.Videotape or record yourself making your pitch.

  • Be aware of your personal style and play to your strengths.
  • Confidence is a very attractive quality to most people.
  • Identify your unique selling points.
  • Be as specific as you can. The use of numbers and stats lends credibility to your pitch.
  • Be conscientious of body language and vocal tone.
  • Less is more. Never be afraid to pause to see if your audience has a question.
